Definition of a cookie

The term “Cookie” covers all trackers deposited and/or read when consulting a website, reading an e-mail or installing or using software or a mobile application. The lifetime of a cookie is 13 months; at the end of this period, consent must be re-obtained.

Each website can access the cookies it has placed on a computer to read them, modify them and save the information they contain. Cookies also play an important role in the operation and ergonomics of a website. They are used in particular to facilitate navigation, produce statistics, enable transactions and ensure site security, etc.

Types of cookie used by the site

There are two main categories of cookies:

• Session cookies (or temporary cookies): they are deleted from your computer at the end of your browsing session. For example, they make it possible to consult different pages of a website without having to enter information that you have already provided each time.

• Persistent cookies: they are stored on your computer after your browser is closed. They store information about your browsing, such as your last visit, preferences and language selection etc.

But you can prevent the storage of cookies by configuring the browser window settings.

Google Analytics

The Nanobiotix website uses Google Analytics, a website analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). This tool allows us to measure site traffic in order to evaluate its performance in the form of statistics.

Google Analytics also uses “cookies” that analyse your use of the website. When you use Google Services, your data as described above may be hosted on Google servers located in the United States of America.

The cookies used by Google Analytics are:
__ga: used to track the performance of pages viewed by users. The lifetime of the cookie is 10 minutes.
__gat: selected to limit the demand rate, which limits data collection on high traffic sites. The lifetime of the cookie is 13 months.
__gid: records a unique identifier in order to generate statistical data on how visitors use the site. The lifetime of the cookie is 1 day

For any additional information relating to the use of Google Analytics, you can consult Google’s privacy rules and in particular how Google uses certain data collected when you use its partner sites and apps.

You can disable Google Analytics by using the browser add-on for disabling Google Analytics.
